September Glossybox (USA)

If Glossybox, you guys ever get around to reading this, I'm thinking maybe you'd like a little to use me as your ambassador? :) Okay, all self-promotion aside, I truly like the Glossybox service. Every month, there's at least ONE thing to look forward, let alone a plethora of blessings that surround me. I'm happy that they finally  got around to getting the boxes on time. I've had a problem with that. Now, all is well.

This box was titled Fall Forward, marking the oh-so-sad-time-passing-by-all-too-quickly start of Autumn! I'm not all too sure how the theme actually related to the products but nonetheless, I was happy with what I had received.

As always, the box comes with hair products. This time it came with GKHair shampoo and conditioner. Again, I'm not always so thrilled about hair products besides the fact that I'd get something to pack next time I leave home (which is never).

Then there was the biggie. A Missha BB cream, that I had in fact used for quite some time many years back. I remember I used to wear this all the time and loved it to pieces! Then, I ran out of the two tubes I had and from then on, I went exploring for other products. Point is, I loved it and when I saw it I was like... NOSTALGIA! It's a Korean brand BB cream (they do it the best!) that has really good coverage and is fairly thick. It definitely doesn't feel "watery". I'm not too sure if the people who like to feel as if they have no makeup on, would feel about this. I felt it was thick, but then again, I didn't really wear it alone. All in all, it's good thing to try out. Don't be shocked about the color (try to get the right one) but even so, keep blending until you reach your skin color. It shall be okay :)

Then, the exciting product is the Koh Gen Do cleansing spa water. As you know, (you should know!) I am in love with Bioderma Crealine H20. I've opened my eyes to the water-based makeup removers and love them so much more than the oil removers that just sweep and drag makeup all over your face. Well, actually, oil makeup removers really do the job well but then your eyes get sore or itchy, and your face doesn't feel exactly fresh does it? But water-based cleansers leave your face feeling SO fresh and don't irritate your eyes. So, I'm pretty excited about this.

Lastly, its Glossybox's own lipstick in the color "Pink". (I know, it's not exactly the most creative). The color is quite pretty when swatched and all, but when I wore it on my lips, it didn't seem to be a flattering one. It was neither bright nor pink enough-- it seemed rather dusty and dull! However, it is very pigmented and creamy so that's a good thing.

All in all, I rated this box an 8.5/10. The last month's box was better, and I'm sure there's many good ones to come!

NOTD: Essie "Case Study"

Have I been saturated with studying? I even opted for a nail polish called "Case Study" by Essie. I saw this on Essie nail polish's Facebook page and searched for the very color a model was wearing. I don't own any "dull" colors. I hate my hands looking old and or dead. But this color looked so elegant, classic, and chic. Also, now that Fall is here, I thought this would be a great color.

I ordered it online and so I was pretty worried about what the actual color would look like and how it'd work on my skin. Luckily, I think it works well! I absolutely love it. And just like its name, I feel its appropriate for my setting. Something about this color also reminds me of a winter day stuck inside a cozy library, muddled between stacks of books with a cup of white chocolate mocha, hearing the silent snow fall outside the window.

It's difficult to describe the color. It's brown and gray, in such a perfect mix! Doesn't it give the illusion that it's some really expensive nail polish? It looks luxurious. And it's hard for these colors to not make your hands look dead, but this works. I don't know. Maybe you guys disagree, but I think it's such a nice elegant color!

Also, wearing this color with beige cardigans look really pretty! It's just so Autumnal :)

What are some of your favorite Fall nail polishes?

Hello there, Beauty Favorites!

Judge me all you want as being shallow, but there is a kind of happiness about waking up each day to a selection of beautiful beauty products and pampering yourself with all sorts of things! Happiness can lie in greater things and of course they do, in areas miles and miles deeper. But to find a little joy in the small and shallow things don't make you shallow, nor are they a waste. It's fun and for all that it is, it's good to have fun sometimes!

Okay, so now that my intro is done, let me share with you some of my favorite beauty products! I have to say, honestly, that I love every single product I have. I don't regret a things I buy, besides a very few amount. I love using every single one of them, and it was quite difficult to select only a minimal few. However, I can say without hesitation, that these products are my absolutely favorites! I've repurchased most of them several times, never letting me down after all the uses I got from them.

I think a great deal of these products portray a good deal of the kind of makeup I like to wear. Someday I'd like to have a little tour through my minimal makeup collection and show you all that I have. I speak of each product as if they were my kidlings that need their own special attention in a special way.

From the Cire Trudon candle I've been obsessed with (had I the money, I'd stock up a closet full of them!) to the minuscule Benefit "Bella Bamba" blush sample, let me take you through some of the best beauty products (of course my opinion!) out there.

Take note of the beautiful setting please! Do tell me the whole setup is nice for I'm quite proud of it myself :)

Tom Ford Limited Edition "01 ENCHANTED" Eyeshadow Palette REVIEW

I'm excited to introduce to you my first Tom Ford eyeshadow palette. I have to say, getting a hold of Tom Ford beauty products is pretty hard. Most stores only sell their lipsticks, and I wanted more than to choose from online a palette that I would be spending quite some money on. I was able to go the Saks Fifth Avenue to check the products in person. The one I settled for was the 01 Enchanted palette, a quad of silver, pink, gray, and mauvey purple/brown. I'm not sure if each color has its own name, but I fail to know of it, and therefore only list it in their family of color.
It comes in Tom Ford's luxurious packaging.

The colors are most gorgeous. I've always been one to avoid sparkles in eyeshadows, but the thing about these eyeshadows is that they give a "wet" look and I have to say, it is very flattering on the eyes. I thought that these colors were completely wearable yet flattering, achieving both natural and dramatic looks.

The picture above is one in a different lighting. On the skin, it again has a different effect. Strangely, the colors change into a very purple tone on my skin tone.

The eyeshadows are a bit sheerer than I thought, but it transfers completely and naturally onto the skin. They blend brilliantly and the colors within the quad are amazing used together. I use mostly the three colors besides the lightest one. I have the pink tone all over my eyelids, then apply the gray on the lower crease. Then I add the dark brown on the outer edges and blend them all together.

Pictures are better than words, and I thought showing you swatches would be a better description of the palette. I love it and every time I apply it, it's a session of luxury pampering!

The Lips that Never Go Wrong (BURBERRY LIP MIST)

There's the old saying, never say never. But somehow, I challenge that with this Burberry Lip Mist in the color Copper no.202. It has been the lip product I go to when all seems to fail. It has never failed to satisfy me, impress me, and urge me to go buy the full size version of this product. I had first received the sample size of this in my Glossybox and have incessantly used it. I am about to hit bottom of that sample (which surprisingly lasted me for so long!) and decided I mustn't put it off any longer. I'm going to go buy it.

Considering the price of some high-end beauty products nowadays (a paramount example, the Tom Ford lipstick that I adore pricing at some $50) this lip product was fairly affordable. It was $32. Not bad, considering how much wear I'd get out of this.

A lip mist is supposed to be the natural sheer finish that you can apply "without a mirror". There the ones you need a lip brush for, and then there are these sheer kinds that you can just sweep on your lips anytime during the day. It's also super moisturizing, and even the chappiest lips are nourished with this lippie. When you put it on, your lips get this gleen moistness and any mark of dryness if completely gone! Also, the moisture lasts all day. It's like a luxury lip balm with a good pigmentation even though it's sheer.

What I love so much about this product and the color is the ever so au naturel finish of it all! It gives you this clean, nourished lips that has the enhanced color of the lip product. Copper has to be one of my faves because this, though it looks dark, has this slight pink tint to it that gives such a pretty and polished look. It's not pretty as in, in-your-face-I-am-a-doll look, but more as in, oh-look-how-subtly-polished-of-a-girl-I-am look!

And just look at the packaging. Need I say more? It's Burberry, and unlike other products that have their mark engraved on the tip of the lipstick, giving you only a few use before their mark is erased, this one has it all down the sides. That gives you the pleasure of showing off those Burberry checks until you hit pan for these lippies :)

P.S. the case is magnetic. (HOW SWEET IS THAT!)

Giorgio Armani EYES TO KILL (Mascara)

My new favorite mascara! I've been using this for over a month now and I love it so much. It's the Giorgio Armani "Eyes to Kill" mascara that had been quite a hit and hot issue when it came out, and still probably is. How could it not? It has basically all that I ask for: lengthening, volumizing, and NO CLUTTERS!

I have to say, my eyelashes are thick-- and that may sound great, but it's really not. That means when I curl them and apply mascara, the curls uncurl and goes back to straight! So, the last thing I want is cluttery eyelashes that makes them so heavy that they uncurl. And anyway, who would want cluttered eyelashes?

This mascara comes in two kinds-- one that gives extra volumizing. I believe mine is the normal kind and maybe I'll want to try the extra volumizing one. But regardless, this is amazing because the bristles are so neatly refined that when you comb them through, your eyelashes get brushed evenly and nicely. Then, it adds a coat of ever so creamy and thick mascara that adds volume and length. It's just so clean but it gives such a nice impactful result!

The brush is also really efficient for the bottom lashes as well, although I don't put mascara on my bottom lash. But when I do, I find that unlike other mascaras that have really thick bulky brushes, this one is small and refined enough to get the bottom lashes.

When you apply it, you can feel each bristle working into each lash. The result is full and elongated lashes, and really "eyes to kill"! It's a wet application that of course dries and doesn't leave your lashes feeling too clumped or later drying into bits of powder falling from your eyes! Yuck! This puts on nicely and stays on nicely.

I've been using this nonstop. What are some of your favorite mascaras?

NOTD "ROCOCO"

I was never a nail girl, nor am I still. However, there are days when painting nails relieves some stress and gives pamper time some fun. And again, another reason to paint nails is when I feel discolored and naked with bare nails. But mostly, it's because it's just fun-- fun to wear and fun to put on!

I thought, what can make me feel wild, young, and free-- and I thought it was a good time to try out this nail polish I received (for free) from Space NK. This nail apparel by Rococo is the color "Funboy" in matte texture. I don't know how many finishes they have but supposedly this is the matte version. I added a nice shiny topcoat, so I don't know how much of their true intentions come through. This hot bright pink color adds some jazz to the dull things in life I think :)
